The Courtyard Barns is a brand new, rustic, stone barn wedding venue based in a beautiful little village just north of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. A family run venue on a working farm, Bill and Emma make you feel like you are being welcomed into their home and as part of the family. They offer exclusive use, and will be doing a limited number of weddings each year so you definitely don't want to miss out when it comes to snapping up your date.
The Barn
This barn is comprised of two sides. The Threshing Barn & The Granary.
The Threshing Barn is on the right hand side as you look from the courtyard. With a double height ceiling, this is the perfect ceremony location. This space seats up to 100 people, on chivari chairs provided by the venue. It feels like a beautiful intimate space and the aisle isn't super long for those who get a little nervous. During your drinks reception this
space is transformed into your evening reception, with ample room for a DJ or a band to set up.
The Granary is a gorgeous little light trap! With its brick floors and beams it makes the perfect setting for your wedding breakfast. You can set this space using round tables or long trestle tables, both of which are provided by the venue meaning you get to choose which layout you prefer.
The Courtyard
From the barn through two incredible huge doors you are welcomed onto the courtyard, complete with flower beds and little nooks. This is perfect for your arrival drinks, photographs and garden games. This space is also home to the Long Hovel which is a separate barn for the caterers to use.
The Church
The Courtyard Barns is super lucky to be situated right next to the village church, St Michael and All Angels Church; Wartnaby. You can get married in the church but if you do not have a link with the church or come from the parish you may have to attend a few church services in the six months prior to your wedding. The land around the church is owned by the venue and the church so can be used as a beautiful back drop for your photos if you wish.
The Package
Exclusive hire over 3 days! Yes you did read that correctly. Weekend price May to September 2023 is just £6,500. This allows you exclusive access to the site from 2pm on Friday to 12noon on Sunday. A typical weekend would run like this:
Friday, set up: Yours to decorate between 2pm- 8pm
Saturday, the wedding day: all day until 11:30pm (music ends and bar closes 11pm)
Sunday, wind-down: yours until noon
They also provide luxury portable toilets, free parking for all guests in a field opposite and no charge corkage on welcome drinks or table wine.
Extras available by arrangement:
- BBQ for Sunday morning breakfast rolls
- The wedding couple’s dog is welcome to join the celebrations on the Saturday
- Firepit
- Vintage tractor
Ceremonies
At the moment you are only able to hold ceremonies on site lead by a celebrant or humanist as they don't hold a civil ceremony license. To legally marry you would need to speak with your local parish about a registry office service, as celebrant lead weddings are not currently legally binding ceremonies in the UK.
Supplier Details
The team will be working with preferred catering company's but everyone else is up to you as they allow you to select your own dream team of other suppliers.
Accommodation
There are local hotels just 10 minutes away by taxi in the village of Melton Mowbray. But if you wanted to have your nearest and dearest stay with you on site there is a field for camping available for your guests on Saturday night (limited number of spaces).
